COVID-19

Individualized care in a safe environment

I am committed to protecting your life and your future.

Essential health care needs do not stop because there is a pandemic. Of the many questions throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, perhaps the most urgent is how will our office help protect my health and well-being? The answer lies in our ability to provide the utmost standards in infection control along with our ability to maintain your care at its center.

How are we prioritizing your safety?

We are committed to caring for you in a way that is safe and consistent with both State and Federal guidelines.

First and foremost, Marlene D. Galizi MD has always put patients’ care first.  We offer individualized care in a safe environment. There is no wait time. We do not overcrowd our office with double and triple booked patients. Waiting room occupancy is kept at a minimum not only for patient consults and follow-ups but for colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures. Dr. Galizi spends time listening to her patients and supplies an individualized care plan based on an individualized set of tests. There is no rushing. She is there with you all the way.

Additionally, we offer a portal system and a Telehealth platform for Virtual Care visits. You can fill out your forms on-line, pay your copays and deductibles on-line, ask questions on-line, schedule appointments on-line or you can simply call us.

How about infection control?

New in-office policies have been implemented to keep you safe. We are adhering to CDC precautions as well as State and Federal guidelines with regard to our cleaning and disinfecting protocols. These protocols are used throughout the day, in between patients and procedures.

To reduce your exposure risk to COVID-19, Dr. Galizi, her staff and all patients will be equipped with masks and other PPE necessary for a safe environment. This includes PPE(masks, shields, gloves, shoe covers, hair covers) for procedures such as colonoscopy and upper endoscopy.  The office is readily wiped down after every procedure.  It is cleaned and then disinfected with Sani-Cloth germicidal disposable wipes and bleach.

UV light is then applied to all areas to offer an extra line of protection.

What can I expect on my appointment day?

We can call or text you directly to come into the office or you can wait in a waiting room with enough distance to keep you and one other person at least 6 feet away.  Family and friends that may accompany you need to wait in their cars or return at a given time so that they are not exposed (unless you require assistance).  We can call and/or text them when you are ready.

When you arrive, you will be screened at our window for potential symptoms and contacts. A no touch thermometer will be used to take your temperature and a pulse oximeter will be used to measure your oxygen level.

If you are experiencing symptoms, call us.  If you are anxious with regards to visiting the office or have trouble with the concept of a Virtual Visit, please call us.  We can help you through this.

Coronavirus may have changed our daily life for now but, we can help you navigate through
